OVERVIEW

Friendsgiving's all about sharing—your almost famous mac and cheese, inside jokes, and now, $500.

Cash App launched a Friendsgiving-themed referral campaign to reward customers who referred a friend to sign up. Both the referrer and the new friend were entered to win $500.

APPROACH

Referral campaigns usually feel like a favor you're asking. We wanted to flip that and make referring a friend feel like giving a gift, not sending a link. Friendsgiving was the perfect hook because the whole theme is about choosing your people and showing up for them. That energy shaped the campaign messaging and leaned into celebration, good times, and the kind of friendship where you'd actually split $500.
